Manas was born from our travels and the search for that feeling of arriving in a new place that immediately feels like home. In a world that asked us to move faster, we chose to slow down and return to our childhood holiday home.
What started as a coliving space evolved into something deeper: a collection of soulful homes designed for intentional living, for creativity and conscious indulgence.
A spacious seaside home ideal for groups up to 14 people. Perched above the Atlantic with plenty of room to gather, rest and create. You can book the whole house, host a retreat or request an individual room in one of our residencies.

ExploreManas Slowliving is co-founded by sisters Inês and Rita. Manas is the Portuguese term of endearement for sisters — it reflects our feminine, intuitive approach to hospitality. It’s about behaving like a sister would: lovingly, calmly, and with deep care.
We learned to surf in Alentejo and have been surfing here for over 20 years. This part of the Portuguese coastline features some of the least crowded surf spots in the country.
You can find many beginner to advanced spots within a 30 minute drive from the house. We can help you arrange equipment, classes or local guides to show you the best waves that Alentejo has to offer.
Groups can request a more or less curated living experience. You'll have a wide range of organized activities and experiences at your disposal, from sampling the local gastronomy, to diving into the world of ocean-based activities, to exploring the cultural offering and letting your creativity flow.
